Clan Matches will be posted here in this forum in form of topics.

Scheduled matches will have sign up sheets on who will participate. The final call on who participate however, will be decided by RoyalSpade. Please do not be sour if you are not picked for a certain match, for there will be more clan matches to participate in. [I don't know how we're going to pick people just yet, but it will most likely be on a first come, first serve basis. Unless the Clan Match is difficult/important.] So check this forum regularly!

How to sign up for Clan Matches
.
1. Check this forum section regularly.
2. Post a reply into an "open" Clan Match.
3. Wait for a response from RoyalSpade or the assigned "Clan Match Leader."
4. Your now signed up for the designated Clan Match!

Clan Match Etiquette.
1. No Shit Talking. None.
-- If they start, don't continue it.
2. Be On Time.
-- If you're late you will be replaced.
3. If you can't make it, tell us ahead of time.
-- A day prior if possible. No hard feelings if you can't.
4. Play Hard.
-- Don't let the other team get the best of us!
5. Represent Requiem.

Guide to Rockets

July 14, 2008 by reidv2

Shoot WHERE the opponent is going to be, NOT where he's at. If they're bunnyhopping, jump with them, keep at the same height. Don't try to rocket people who are really fast unless you're confident in your skills. Switch to SMG's or shotties.

Rocket Roulette-A Is the highest damage of the rockets.
Death Hurler-A Is the fastest firing / best heat of the rockets.

Guide to SMG's.

SMGs are said to be the easiest weapons to use in the game. They provide flexibility in either continous fire or burst fire. Since most of the enemies you will fight will not boost effectively, SMGs are the most effective to use in regular matches.

I will not include ways to use echoblaster, as I can't use it.

Planet Eagle-X

Tips:

Never hold the fire button down unless the other person is in melee delay or does not boost around you.

This allows you to aim at your target, fire at them and re-aim again. Thus allowing you to kill bunnyhoppers.

For Beamspitter-X

Hold down the button and let bullets run wild. Just put your reticle the size of the Sun on your target and hold down the fire button. Strafe, bunnyhop or whatever- beamspitters will get the job done quick without much or any effort at all. Especially the Beamspitter-B [Low overheat, high RoF and good damage].

Guide to Rectifyers.

Simple Tactics
-
First Heal: Alternate clicks if they are running, When most people are getting healed they stop moving to make themselves an easier target, left click or right click first to signal them to stop moving so you don't waste a round of healing. After that just double heal.

Extended Heals
: with the fast cool down of daven and spaz, a small second or two break between heals can let you get off another round of healing before overheat.

Healing the Advance
: Stand behind your team, or try to, when you have your dual rects out. You don't do any damage and you need to stay alive to keep others alive so taking needless fire is waste of time. Also spend a second to look at what you are healing. If one guys is at full health, and another is at half, don't blindly heal, try to get the guy at half health so you can keep the dps of the team up.

Skills: all you really need is 1 MPU so if you have dual SMGs get BH or SBH. It can really save the day if you spawn on a gate alone surrounded by enemies. Those few seconds of immortality can really save you. For the Nurse Build I don't even bother with skills but SSV is nice if you wanna try.

Getting Healed: If you are standing on a heal pad and someone starts healing you, jump off the heal pad immediately, even if they are at full health. One healer and gray pads is horrible for us to see.
Note: If you know you have a healer on your team and see an almost empty heal pad, jump on it, so at least it can reset for when your healer needs it.

I'll post more on this in a later time.
Tell some of my strategies as well.

Guide to Rifles

While on Teams:

1. Stick with at least 1 or 2 other people.

2. Follow a medium amount of distance BEHIND your group.

3. Use your reticule to aim, wait for the orange reticule to appear then click.

4. Shoot THROUGH your allies. They will be taking the damage most likely, not you.

5. If you can, find an elevated area. Get to it, make sure that you are not TOO far away though.

6. Look for enemies trying to sneak around back. Since you are in the back of the group, watch their backs as they protect you from the front.

Piloting Solo:

1. Elevated Areas are great sniping points but are not good for being defensive while attacking.

2. Walls, Corners, Boxes, Small Ramps(like in Face Off) are great cover points that allow you to VIEW the battle field and have cover.

3. Don't get TOO concentrated on one enemy, as they should be ample distance away from you.

4. Make sure to scan BEHIND YOU to see if you have any enemies coming up from behind.

5. Never stay in the same spot for more than 25-35 seconds. You'll basically be a Whack-A-Mole target. Everyone will know where you are.

Guide to Cannons

July 14, 2008 by reidv2

1. Find a place where players won't normally look for you.

2. Boxes/Ledges are your best friends. Jump on top of them, shoot and fall off, jump back on top of the box. Rinse and Repeat. This gives you cover while you are waiting for your next shot to be able to be used.

3. Corners corners corners. If you can set yourself up in an area near a corner. Do so! After shooting, run around the corner if needed to take cover.

4. Don't stay in the same place. Change every couple of shots unless the area you are in is a very good area for you to snipe from with little confrontation.

5. If you have more than one person cannoning, STICK WITH THAT PERSON. COMMUNICATE. ATTACK THE SAME TARGET.

6. After each shot, spin your camera around and check your surrounding for any enemies and get ready to switch weapons if their heading your way.

7. Don't try to be cool like the very select few players who know how to use cannons in melee range. But feel free to practice this mighty feat in LS matches.

8. Grab a melee skill.

Guide to Shotguns

July 14, 2008 by reidv2

Shotguns useage varies depending on which you have, as each gun has different ups and downs.

Dazzler-X
Largest reticle of the shotguns, also I believe it has the highest damage output. Good rate of fire, mediocre overheat.

Spattergun-X
One word. Stun. High damage plus the stun ability of the Persuaders makes these ideal for slowing down bunnyhoppers. Usually good to have one of these and a spear, because the shotgun will temporarily stun the opponent, allowing you to spear them without much difficulty.

Against Melee
Boost THROUGH your opponent, most players will overshoot their swing, missing you. Once you are behind them, spin and shoot, they will be delayed from the swing animation. Rinse and Repeat.

Guide to Swords and Spears

July 14, 2008 by reidv2

Sword

1. Swords have a wide angle attack, so take advantage of it.
2. Instead of swinging your sword in front of the opponent, try to swing and hit your opponent from the side.

Spear

1. Spears have a longer lunge attack than swords.
2. Stay a little away from the opponent, aim where they are going to be at, then attack.

Against a Back Peddling(smg mainly) enemy:
Run away, you'll take too much damage for it to be worth it. Run, hide, and wait for them to follow.

Against a Rocket user:
They will most likely bunnyhop around you. Jump and Boost to max height and take your time to aim. DO NOT RUSH.

Against a Rifle user:
Stay in their dead zone.

Against a Cannon user:
Get next to them. Attack.

Against a sword user(for spear):
Stay in the air more than you are on the ground. If you run out of EN, just run away from them a little and then commence attacking once you have sufficient EN.

Against a spear user(for spear):
Let them attack first. Try to chain your attacks once you hit your enemy. Most enemies will boost to the left or the right to escape.

Against a Dragooner.

A dragooner is faster than you, no matter how hard you try to dash away. Either fight back by back-peddling with range or strafe wildly and do your best to shoot him.

If you're melee, then dragoon back.

Against a SMG user.

I would say stay faraway with longer range weapons or go into his face with melee and shotguns.

Against a Rifle user.

Back off if you're too far away from the user since he's going to backpedal. Similar to against a cannoner, strafe left and right, use the environment as cover to get near him.

Against a Cannoner.

1. Never dash towards him.
2. Strafe left and right to confuse him.
3. Use your surroundings to get cover.
4. Out-flank and get near him.

Against a Shotgunner.

Stay your distance and blast away.

Against a Rocketeer.

Don't go too near on these guys. They can simply walk up to your face and blast you to pieces. Backpedal all you want, a good rocketeer will take advantage of that straight-line retreat.

Don't go melee against rocketeers. Unless you think your good enough to attack from above and end up behind them in one attack.

All you need to do is move more then they can keep up with. Jump like a mad man on cocaine. Get to the sides and behind then finish them. Chances are they will be sitting ducks so take advantage of that and move, move, move.

Against a Sword.

Stay in the air more than you are on the ground. If you run out of EN, just run away from them a little and then commence attacking once you have sufficient EN.

Clan Battle [Felicia Canyon]

July 14, 2008 by reidv2

Alright guys, from my experience playing against NewDawn and Cold Blooded.
For Falicia Canyon here is what I think are good weapons to have.
For a 4vs4 here is the player breakdown.

Section 1). 1 person has dual shotties (Dazzler-A's if possible) with Sweating Bullets as weapon 1 and dual rectifiers for weapon 2 as mech 1. As mech 2 have rocket (once again Rocket Roulette - A if possible, DH-A is nice too) with Superior Fatal Cry (Superior Death from Above) and/or Fatal Cry (Death from Above) as weapon 1 and Cannon (Colony Buster-A if you can afford it, if not Apogee-A) with Superior Shine Break.

Section 2). 2 people has dual SMGs (Beam Spitter-A's or Peagle-A's no exceptions) with Superior Blast Helix or dual shotties (Dazzler-A's if possible) with Sweating Bullets as weapon 1 and dual rifles(IC-A's if possible) with Sweating Bullets for weapon 2.

Section 3). 1 person has straight up nurse build. Rect + Shield with 1 Superior Soul Burn as weapon 1 and Dual Rects as weapon 2. Also has tomahawk booster with 2 Stellar Flares as mech 1. For mech 2, go with same build as section 2.

As the numbers go up, increase the number of Sections accordingly.
5vs5
2 Section 1's
2 Section 2's
1 Section 3
6vs6
2 Section 1's
3 Section 2's
1 Section 3
7vs7
2 Section 1's
3 Section 2's
2 Section 3's
8vs8
2 Section 1's
4 Section 2's
2 Section 3's

Battle Tactics
When starting off, everyone starts with mech 1. If anyone in Section 1 dies and your team controls an aerogate, spawn at that aero gate in mech 2. It is Section 1's job to take down that tower with their massive firepower. It is Section 2's job to give support to Section 1 by basically TDMing where the tower is. When one has enough SP, use Superior Blast Helix where it can hit the tower. Section 3 just gives support to both Sections as they see fit.
Once the tower is destroyed, Section 1 swaps back to mech 1 when they die then everyone just TDMs the rest of the match. Section 3 heals tower untill the tower is destroyed. When and if your tower is destroyed, Section 3 has the option of swapping to mech 2 for kills or if teammates need it, stay as mech 1 for healing.

If your tower is destroyed first, Section 3 immediately swaps to mech 2 when they die and helps with tower destruction. Try to kill that tower!!!
Killing that tower is probably much easier than killing players 30 times!

Reminders:
Aerogates are ridiculously important in this map. You must control at least 1 for the plan above to succeed.
Section builds are in theory, so please give your opinions if you think you have a better idea.
As you can see, there are ALOT of SMGs involved. This is only because Peagle-A's and Beam Spitter-A's have ridiculous damage. If a patch comes along to fix these OP SMGs, changes will probably be made.

Well said Erehk, I couldn't have done it better myself.
Remember those points, because if you arent able to abide by those; chances are you will be booted from Clan Requiem. TDM with Requiem, is not about the most points or most kills. It's about winning- nothing more, nothing less.

Having a good score is just a bonus- keep that in mind.

Team Deathmatch

- Stay Together. The emote/voice comm isnt just there for your listening pleasure, generally people will do this to try and communicate quickly that the team should work as one unit. There is little room for heroics in TDM, simply due to the fact that if your opponents are sticking as a group - you WILL die if you are caught on your own.

- The healer is your friend. Stay near your healer, if its me, I will move with the main group and heal everyone as well as I can. The healers ability to heal is very much so dependant on how well his team can keep him safe.

- Watch your 6! A lot of times, I will find that a enemy Mech has tried to come up behind me (since I am usually towards the back of the battle) and try to pummel me. Sometimes it works, but most of the time - I have a skill waiting to be used and I will change my weapons and lay it on them... sometimes it is enough to kill, however most of the time it isnt. If I am left to fend for myself because no one is paying attention, I will either likely die, or a lot of the team will die due to the fact that all heals have stopped Just because there are 6 enemies in front does not mean there is no danger from any other direction.

- Don't chase your enemy halfway across the map. I loved to chase when I was doing damage too, but there is little gain to chasing one enemy across the map into a potential ambush.
Sure, you might kill him, but if you seperate yourself from the group you have a much larger chance of dying.
I have noticed a lot of people do this, and follow their enemy right into their main group, and get slaughtered. Sometimes I see this happen time and time again, and all I can think of is the phrase: Like lambs to the slaughter.
Oh, and please, if you do this - dont spam for heals, or spam for backup.

- If you are dying, fall back towards the back. Yes, even if the Mech you are shooting is below half health - let someone else who is firing take it out, you cant kill anything else if you die and its just points to the enemy.
If you fall back towards the back you will get healed a lot quicker, and safer and will return to battle a lot faster.
